An alarming increase in human rights violations by law enforcement agencies in Bangladesh will be the focus of a presentation and panel discussion Saturday, Nov. 23, at SMU.
DALLAS (SMU) — An alarming increase in human rights violations by law enforcement agencies in Bangladesh will be the focus of a presentation and panel discussion Saturday, Nov. 23, from noon to 2 p.m. in SMU’s McCord Auditorium, 301 Dallas Hall.
“People in Bangladesh have a right to live with dignity, which is not happening,” says keynote speaker Rick Halperin, director of SMU’s , one of the free public event's sponsoring organizations. “This event is meant to educate and encourage people to take action.”
WHAT:
“Human Rights Issues in Bangladesh” will address suchhuman rights abuses as the illegal detainment, torture and murder of Bangladeshis by law enforcement officials.
